Also considered as one of the fifth dhams of the revered Hindu shrines, Shri Hemkund Sahib situated on the banks of the glacial lake Hemkund amidst the lofty Himalayan ranges surrounded by enthralling beauty &landscapes is known for its unique star-shaped architecture designed keeping in view the weather and altitude of the place, placed over 4000 metres above the sea level – the highest gurudwara in the world. It stands out as one of the most exotic shrines & pilgrimage centres where the tenth guru of the Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh Ji is said to have meditated according to the holy Granth Sahib, redefining spirituality drawing devotees from all over the world every summer.

As Hindu mythology suggests the shrine was earlier known as Lokpal literally meaning “the Sustainer”, also having considered once to be the meditational grounds of Lakshmana, Lord Rama’s brother as is a temple adorned on the shore of the lake dedicated to his worship.
